I am proud to announce that Latham Hi-Tech Hybrids and Latham Seeds have teamed up to give you a first-hand look at corn hybrids and soybeans with the latest traits and technologies. Earlier this spring, our two companies planted in a technology show plot near Spencer, Iowa. The plot was created to give farmers an up-close look at the very latest hybrids, some of which are not even on the market yet.
We’re also working with Iowa State University to demonstrate planting, seed treatment, and soybean cyst nematode (SCN) management approaches. The plot is located at the intersection of B-53 and Highway 71, just eight miles south of Spencer, Iowa. It will include 34 Roundup Ready® hybrids, ranging in maturity from 92- to 115-days. Also showcased is Latham Seeds’ complete soybean lineup, including Vistive™, CystX® and Roundup Ready 2 Yield™.
The plot includes hybrids that are new to the 2009 lineup, and it will give farmers an opportunity to see these new corn hybrids and soybean varieties in real-world growing conditions. The opening view of the Latham’s technology showcase plot will kick-off with a grand opening field day on September 12, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The date is in the middle of the nine-day run of the Clay County Fair in Spencer. Join us to see the latest in cutting edge corn and soybean technology!
