North Dakota Southeast Crop Report: April, 25, 2012

The rains received last week have soaked in and corn planting is taking on a feverish pace. I think everyone is in the field and hitting it hard so it will be interesting to see how many acres are planted this week. I have even heard of some growers talking about planting soybeans but realistically we really need to wait for the weather to stabilize. However, if early planted soybeans is in your plan for this year, consider applying seed treatment. Early planted soybeans benefit from seed treatments to protect against early diseases and insects that like to attack them in cooler soils. Spring is a busy time so stay safe.
