Last week was fast and furious as farmers across western Iowa and eastern Nebraska planted 60-65% of their corn acres. A few producers started planting treated soybeans. Earlier than normal spring allowed producers to plant alfalfa in late March and the new seeding looks great. With dry weather in the coming days, corn planting could be close to 90% and soybeans well on their way to 25-30% complete.
