Scattered showers and a little cooler temperature moved through the area last week. Some areas look tough and may not have received rain soon enough, but other areas look pretty good given the extremely challenging growing conditions. Producers need to keep a close eye on stalk rot and other issues. Looks like harvest will be an early one. Soybeans have improved last week and continue to set pods. Spider mites continue to be treated in some areas along with some other insects. Field observations show L2084R2’s are handling the stress of this years’ drought very well. It will be an interesting August as we finish this crop.
When I sit down to write articles for our blog, I feel like I'm sitting down with my family at the dinner table, ready to talk about news from the field while we enjoy one of our favorite recipes. Whether you're looking for information to help you in the field, are interested in trying a farm family's favorite recipe or simply want to see what others are doing to help feed and fuel the world, we cover it here at The Field Position! Thanks for visiting us today and we hope to hear from you again soon!
