Tune in weekly to 1040 WHO Radio for my weekly From the Field radio updates. Here’s a clip from my latest spot.
Corn planting progressed quickly over the last week. A few showers moved through the area, but they didn’t slow up producers as they took advantage of the weather. Field conditions have remained good with early emergence looking very good. Corn planting is 85 to 90 percent complete with herbicide applications on track. As producers finish corn, they’re going straight to planting soybeans. I’m estimating one-third of soybean acres have been planted across my region, and the majority of farmers will be finished with planting by this weekend provided Mother Nature cooperates.
