Latham’s late group Roundup Ready 2 Yield brands are really performing well in Nebraska. This particular plant from a field of Latham® L3148R2 had 12, 4-bean pods.

The weather has been fairly dry and warm for the last week with scattered showers and a hard frost in the forecast. Harvest is moving right along. The vast majority of soybeans are out, and many growers have a good start on corn. Latham’s late group Roundup Ready 2 Yield brands are really performing well. Take a look at L3148R2; this plant had 12, 4-bean pods on it. This brand number also clusters very well and has a good bottom pod height. Latham® Hi-Tech Hybrids are also doing well. Our 106- to 115-day lineup is exhibiting excellent kernel depth and test weight. We’ve also had very few standability issues, which is impressive given the conditions this season. Harvest is going well, but remember to put safety first! Watch for residue buildup and carry a fire extinguisher as I did see three more combine fires this week.
